“Denim, Fashion’s Frontier”, Museum at FIT

I have never met a blog popup or Follow request I didn’t like.  My inbox is jammed every morning, and this is how I like it.  I have eclectic tastes so not all are fiber related.  Many of these you will find shared on my Facebook page.

I tend to just skim FB posts whereas I will take the time to read blogs.  Therefore, have decided to blog about some of the most appealing articles to share with my Followers.

Denim, Fashion’s Frontier, Museum at FIT through May 7th, 2016.

Who doesn’t know denim, like denim, wear denim.

This video is from the FIT website, a fascinating 5 minute history of a pair of 1840 denim pants.

SAL Public Lecture, Emma McClendon,     Museum FIT

The following video is from Society of Antiquaries of London.    This lecture was sponsored and hosted by the Society of Antiquaries of London in its apartments at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London.  The speaker is Emma McClendon, curator of the FIT Denim exhibit.

The link was on FIT’s FB page, which I immediately clicked, then ‘liked’; have resisted Following the website–so far.  Figure the FB posts will be enough for now.

Beware–this is a 50 minute video.  I suggest you bookmark it for later, or, you may find yourself running to catch  up for the rest of the day.  But, isn’t it great that we can attend lectures all over the world through the magic of  YouTube and Internet.

And, more from FIT–Denim in the Fashion Market, another  50 minute video.

I hope you enjoy this blog which is really just an expanded Facebook page with clickable links.

Please let me know if you would like to see more of this type of blog, AND, share your particular areas of interest.  I’ll keep it in mind while scavenging the Net.
